About Me

My passion for computers began when I received an old laptop from my aunt, sparking my curiosity. I was amazed that a portable computer could perform the same tasks as the large desktop systems I saw at businesses and my school. The laptop was running Windows XP, and since we didn't have home internet, there wasn't much to do with it. So, a lot of my entertainment came from playing Minesweeper and Pinball.

One day, the laptop's backlight went out, and we thought the computer was broken. Out of everyone in the house, I was the most upset and saddened by this. We couldn't afford to send it for repair, much less buy another computer. However, I didn't give up. I noticed that if I moved the screen at a certain angle, the backlight would come back on, but it was very finicky. Once you found the angle, you couldn't move it, or it would turn off again.

Determined to fix it, I took the laptop apart, even though I didn't have the proper tools. I went to the kitchen, found a knife, and removed the bezel from the screen. I unplugged a connection and plugged it back in, and the computer worked again. I was so happy and immediately ran to show everyone in the house that I had fixed the computer!
